The beginning

Hi everybody!

We are here to present ourselves & our project. We are The Glowing Girls and we were born thanks to the WGJ (Women Game Jam). Some of us knew each other previously to this, from Women in Games Argentina, and we met the rest of the team through the JAM system. We are from Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Perú. Our names are Aq, Cami, Chu, Eli, Iris, Jime, Juli, Nan, Pau & Stef. 

We have a dream, and that dream shifted into Undark. We were all looking for a story to teach and touch people. We started debating, and we had the granddaughter- grandmother connection right away from the Jam theme's "Together but Apart" and so we started digging into how make this meaningful.

We went deeper into this meaning, and that's how we decided to make this about 2 people in different times getting to discover each other. We were there, now we only needed a story. One of us had recently read about the Radium Girls and from that moment on, she had decided she wanted to do a game about them. So, timidly, she proposed that idea, and luckily enough, everybody else loved it! And that's how we started shaping the whole story, the bonding, the history, the reality... and the fantasy.

We started writing and creating this dream, and in the meantime we found the perfect name for the project: "Undark", which was the name/brand of the radium paint the girls in the factories used to paint with.

We were suddenly so engaged in the story, creating this world, this bonding moment. It was actually very satisfying seeing everything coming into shape slowly.

We are still working on it, and we hope to soon have a bit of it for you to taste!
